Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine 18th Edition Changes

Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine 18th edition has been released. There are lots of changes, a few major ones are given below:

Total chapters - 397. (In 17th - 392) echapters increased.
Total Parts - 19. (earlier 18).

1. Part 1 - 10 chapters. Removed: Geriatric, complementary alternative medicine
Added: safety and quality of health care.

2. Part 2 - + chapter 30 disorders of hearing separate from disorders of smell, taste

3.Part 3 - Added chapter: The Human Microbiome

4. Part 5 New - Aging

Three new chapters: World demography of Aging, The Biology of Aging, Clinical Problems of Aging

5. Part 6 - Added chapter: Late Consequences of Cancer and its Treatment

6. Part 6 - Amyloidosis shifted here from Immune

7. Part 6 - Arterial thrombosis added to chapter on Venous thrombosis

8. Part 7 - Streptococcal and enterococcal infections as separate chapters

9. Part 7 - Moraxella and Haemophilus infections cut short and merged into one chapter

10. Part 14 - Added chapter: Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome
